A restful evening
Yesterday, Chris had a trip to Dallas so I was on 'single parent' duty.
First, let me share with you what I had in my head of what my day would entail and then I'll list the day's schedule for you. I saw a busy morning, busy day at work, then home to make dinner, great time with the kids. Jordie to do homework, Jake to play then bath and bed.
Then I would take a long bubble bath with scented candles burning all around as I listened to jazz music wafting through the air around me. I would enjoy a glass of wine, then settle into the scrapping mojo and get some of my things off my 'to do' list. Then a restful night's sleep and up again for a happy Tuesday.
Reality:
2:3am - Alarm clock and get up with Chris as he leaves for the airport.
2:50 am - Back to bed
5:3am - Time to get up. Take Dash outside and try not to fall asleep leaning on the tree. Waking up a teenage girl that was up all night isn't even describable.
6am - Jake gets up and wants cupcakes. (wahhh????)
7am - getting Jake in the car and take Jordie to school
730 - back home from dropping Jordie off. Take Dash out. He didn't make it out the door of the lanai quick enough, so some fast clean up is required.
7:45 - Take Jake to school
8 - home to take Dash out, oppss, mess to clean up on the lanai again. Dress for work.
830 - leave for work.
9 - 4 - Play slave for 'da man.
4 - rush to pick up Jordie before the rain starts... DANG it.. didn't make it. That is ok, I'll call her cell and just have her come out so I would have to park, get out and go in to get her. DANG it, she isn't answering her phone!
4:15 - drive around twice to find a parking spot, walk through a parking lot dodging lightening bolts and cars in the library and tried to get in the crowded door due to it being VOTING day at the library! Push my way in as I wipe dripping mascara off my cheek due to the blastest monsoon rain I just ran through.
4:30 - pick up Jake
4:45 - home. wheww... now I can relax.
5 - kids start screaming for food
5:05 - Take Dash out... opps, lanai mess to clean. Now Hurricane Dash has gone around the lanai and I'm seeing an hour of clean up. Good thing he is so dang cute.
Now he is barking for food, Jake is barking for cupcakes, Jordan is barking for her laptop and a drink and I'm just BARKING!
530 - 6 - make dinner
6 - serve dinner
6:05 - hear that isn't what they wanted for dinner
Jake barks for cupcakes
Jordie barks because she is a teen and that is what they do.
take the dog out
play sword fight
play playdough
play Rachett and Clank
read books
make sure Jordie is doing her homework
phone ringing
doorbells ringing
dog needs to go out.....
dog needs to go out again.
everyone wants a snack
everyone wants to be left alone
everyone barks
the dog needs to go out
I remember that I'd started to wash my bed sheets this morning because NOTHING is better after a bubble bath and calm night than sleeping on freshly laundered sheets.
the dog needs to go out.
Clean up dinner
put dishes away
start the laundry
dog needs to go out
Jake wants only mommy to play a game with him, so we play
dog goes out
I put Jake to bed while listening to one of his books on CD because I'm too tired to even speak.
I pass out.
opps... dog needed to go out. mess to clean.
Chris is finally home at 2am and I finally get to rest! forget the bath, forget the wine and music.
then....
6am - alarm clock for this lovely day!
That which doesn't kill you will only make you stronger!

It will get better with the dog - maybe a crate for the day?
Oh, he is in a crate during the day... thus the reason no cleaning during that time. lol
he is wonderful and fun, just all puppy with a puppy sized bladder so he goes out alot! lol
WOW...your day was crazy! Hopefully today isn't as nuts for you.
Ah, Lisa, hope today makes up for it!!
